　　Can papyrus grow tall where there is no marsh? Can reeds thrive without water? 　 蒲草沒有泥，豈能發長。蘆荻沒有水，豈能生發。--《舊·伯》8：11

　　Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding? 　 年老的有智慧，壽高的有知識。--《舊·伯》12：12

　　The lamp of the wicked is snuffed out; the flame of his fire stops burning. 　 惡人的亮光必要熄滅。他的火焰必不照耀。--《舊·伯》18：5

　　that the mirth of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment. 惡人夸勝是暫時的，不敬虔人的喜樂，不過轉眼之間。--《舊·伯》20：5

　　Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your own hands.

　　Everyone should e quick to listen, slow to speak and slower to become angry.

　　Aim for perfection, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

　　The fruit of spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

　　Faith by itself, if it is not a accompanied by action, is dead.

　　當為貧寒的人和孤兒伸冤。當為困苦和窮乏的人施行公義。——《舊·詩》82：3 Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

　　慈愛和誠實，彼此相遇。公義和安，彼此相親。——《舊·詩》85：10 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding,

　　側耳聽智慧，專心求聰明。——《舊·箴》2：2

　　Seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

　　心所憎惡的共有七樣，就是：高傲的眼，撒謊的舌，流無辜人血的手，圖謀惡計的心，飛跑行惡的腳，吐謊言的假見證，并弟兄中布散分爭的人。——《舊·箴》6：16-19 Wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.

　　智慧以靈明為居所，又尋得知識和謀略。——《舊·箴》8：12 The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.

　　行正直路的，步步安穩。走彎曲道的，必致敗露。——《舊·箴》10：9 Love covers over all wrongs.
